Azizi Marshall, MA
Founder & CEO
As a mother of two young girls, Azizi places a special emphasis on self-esteem, emotional regulation and cultural connection for children. She holds two Masters degrees in Community Counseling and Theatre from Northeastern Illinois University, Graduate-level training in Drama Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy at Kansas State University, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois, a Registered Drama Therapist and Board Certified Trainer (RDT/BCT) in Drama Therapy, a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) with the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association, and a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors, Illinois Mental Health Counselors Association and the Illinois Counselors Association.
Azizi has been featured in Oprah Magazine, CNN, NBC News, Bustle, Reader's Digest, The Huffington Post, Chicago Tribune, and Glancer Magazine. She speaks regularly throughout the country on Creative Arts Therapy, and guest posts on national news articles about wellness and creativity.
Linnea Carerra, MA
Linnea Carrera has over 15 years of education experience with preschool through high school aged students. With tons of energy, she is able to keep the children engaged in creative movement, dramatic play and focused through drumming. Linnea incorporates theatre into her lesson plans by using the body to memorize shapes and numbers, and music to count out beats. Your child will have a ton of fun while learning about their emotions with Linnea!
Linnea Carrera holds a BA in Communications and Theater from Northwestern Illinois University and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College. She is currently completing training in Drama Therapy.
Rachel Wagner-Cantine is a licensed clinical counselor (LCPC) and board certified dance/movement therapist (BC-DMT). Rachel has been in the field of psychotherapy for nine years working in a variety of treatment settings including outpatient, inpatient and residential. Rachel has extensive knowledge of treating individuals and families struggling with depression, anxiety, and eating disorders, as well as symptoms in relation to past trauma experiences. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques to best fit each client's needs including verbal therapy, art, music, body-mind connections, and principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In addition, Rachel is trained in DIRFloortime® and specializes in treating children on the autism spectrum as well as supporting parents and families of special needs children.
Yoga Practitioner Consultant
Kim specializes in restorative yoga to align her child offerings and encourages everyone to pause from life’s stresses and strains to gently open the body, calm the mind, and relax deeply. Teaching preschoolers to grade school-aged kids has been rewarding and serves as a creative outlet as well as a special way to share Kim’s appreciation for nature and for other cultures.
Kim finds joy in helping participants connect to their inner light and has taught in a variety of settings including local yoga studios, a health and wellness center, and therapeutic settings as she continues to find ways to share her passion. Kim currently helps individuals who are recovering from addictions through an intensive outpatient program (IOP) at a local counseling center through yoga.
Stephanie Driscoll, MA
Instructor & Dance Therapist
Stephanie Driscoll, MA, R-DMT is a graduate of Antioch University of New England where she completed her degree in Dance/ Movement Therapy & Counseling. After graduating, Stephanie returned back to Chicago where she found a position as an Expressive Therapist in the In-patient Behavioral Health Unit at Loretto Hospital for over three years while holding a PRN position at Linden Oaks Behavioral Health Hospital for a year. She has many years of experience working with children of all ages.
Stephanie is trained at the master’s level as a dance/ movement therapist with mental health counseling where she held several internships and was a part of the local community.
Leslie recently completed an internship as a counselor in the Counseling Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato, where she had the opportunity to refine her counseling and empathy skills by providing a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students with culturally sensitive individual and group counseling. Additionally, she has presented on a variety of outreach topics, including stress management, mindfulness, conquering shyness, social anxiety, and informational presentations about counseling services to the campus community.
Leslie earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling through Minnesota State University, and is currently an Assistant Theatre Director at a local High School.
Instructor & Art Therapist
Ciara graduated from Adrian College in Adrian, MI with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Psychology. Currently, Ciara is a Graduate Student at Adler University pursuing a Masters of Counseling in Art Therapy.
By becoming culturally empathetic, recognizing children's strengths, and understanding the child's community, she works to create a safe space for children and their families. Ciara is eager to explore these interests and work closely with a variety of individuals in the community. In addition, Ciara is a figure skating coach. By highlighting the strengths in others, she facilitates a positive interaction among skaters. She loves spending time encouraging others to express themselves through skating and art.
